Dickson sacks female official over alleged indiscipline as ex-aide disagrees, commits to truth

Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson State has relieved his Special Adviser on Talent Development and Gender Education, Mrs. Helen Bob, of her appointment.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Fidelis Soriwei, said Bob was dismissed for “repeated acts of gross misconduct, indiscipline, irresponsibility and acts unbecoming of a person occupying the high position of a special adviser in any government whatsoever.”

He recalled that the dismissed official had been an aide for almost eight years and was among the 130 special advisers out of the 2000 appointees engaged by the governor to assist him in steering the ship of state and delivering good governance to the people.

Reacting, Bob maintained that she will keep standing for the truth however the circumstance.

In a statement in Yenagoa, the former aide said: “You have done very well not to have ignored my comments, which of course, I know must have touched your heart. And the gods of the land will be so proud of a true Izon daughter. Truth is very bitter.

“This is not a surprise at all to me as a political heroine, who at least stood strong to comment on the excesses of the leadership of our great party.

“Sincerely, it is already late as no amount of sack will stop me from stating the truth.”
