Customs Intercept Over $6m USD at Lagos Airport by Jerry Aguigbo

The Nigeria Customs Service Murtala Muhammed International Airport has intercepted and seized $6.8million about to be flown out of Nigeria by unknown persons.

Disclosing this in Lagos this Tuesday at the Airport in Lagos, Col.Hameed Ali( Rtd), who briefed the press said 2 persons, the driver of the vehicle which brought the said money and an airport staff belonging the National Aviation Handling Company of Nigeria (NAHCO) have been arrested to explain their parts in the dollar deal.

Explaining, the CGC said the money was wrapped in large envelopes with the names of intended owners. The money he revealed was stuffed into a vehicle belonging to NAHCO .

According to Ali, no claimant has come for the said money yet, not even the banks have come to claim the money as investigation is still on- going.
