Court adjourns trial of Dasuki, others for alleged N19b fraud to Dec 11

A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court has adjourned till December 11, 2019, the trial of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd), and four others for alleged misappropriation of N19.4 billion arms funds.

Arraigned alongside the ex-NSA are, erstwhile Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda, one-time governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa, his son, Sagir, and company, Dalhatu Investment Limited.

They are being tried on a 25-count charge of criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of public fund.

Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf adjourned the trial after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) counsel, Oluwaleken Atolegbe, holding for Rotimi Jacob (SAN), file an application in that respect.

Attorneys to other defendants did not object the application.

But Yuguda’s lawyer, M.D. Ayodele, said he was not served with the motion on notice despite being part of the case.

The case was thereafter adjourned till December 11, 2019, for the hearing of the motion on notice.
