Change of Guard at Customs Zone C: ACG Dangaladima Takes the Helm

Assistant Comptroller General of Customs (ACG) Sambo Kaliel Dangaladima has taken over as the new Zonal Coordinator of Customs Zone C, with its headquarters in Port Harcourt. This development follows the redeployment of the former Zonal Coordinator to Zone A. ACG Dangaladima brings his wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as the Zonal Coordinator of Zone B

In a brief handover ceremony held in Port Harcourt on Monday, 9 December 2024, the out-gone Zonal Coordinator, ACG Charles Orbih, who now heads Zone A as the new Zonal Coordinator, expressed delight over the deployment of Dangaladima to the Zone, describing him as the man best fit for the job. Orbih, who used the occasion to highlight some of the achievements under his watch, which include rejigging and repositioning the workforce for greater efficiency and enhancing robust stakeholder engagement, also praised the officers and men of the zone for their ceaseless support and dedication to duty.

In his response, the newly posted Zonal Coordinator, SK Dangaladima, promised to consolidate on his predecessor’s successes and work in line with the Comptroller General’s policy thrust of consolidation, collaboration, and innovation. Still on his remark, he urged the officers and men of the service to thrive for excellence in their given areas of responsibility. He promised to be transparent and fair to all and to create a conducive working environment for all stakeholders.

He concluded his remarks by thanking the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, and his Management team for giving him the privilege and opportunity
to handle the affairs of the Zone, while promising to serve with unwavering commitment and humility.

An astute administrator and intelligence-driven customs officer, ACG Sambo Kaliel Dangaladima was born on December 31, 1965, in Kebbi State, North West Nigeria. He began his career in the Nigeria Customs Service as a Cadet Superintendent of Customs in 1990. He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria.

Before his ascension to his current position, Dangaladima has served in various capacities, which include:
Deputy Comptroller in charge of Intellectual Property Rights under the Department Strategic Research and Policy in Customs Headquarters, Abuja.
Comptroller of Customs in charge of Import and Export under the Tariff and Trade Department, Customs Area Controller of Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. Others includes
Customs Area Controller in Charge of Kano/Jigawa Area Command,
Comptroller Admin Zone ‘B’ Headquarters, Kaduna, and Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU), among many others.

He was elevated to the enviable rank of Assistant Comptroller General of Customs, where he was first appointed as the zonal coordinator to oversee Zone B.

The Zonal Coordinator has attended several strategies and managerial courses at home and abroad and received several awards and accolades for his meritorious service to the country.
ACG SK Dangaladima is happily married with children.
