President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated his administration’s zero tolerance for brutality of Nigerians by law enforcement agents.
Reacting yesterday to the killing of Kolade Johnson by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Lagos, he acknowledged the “genuine outrage” regarding the activities of the special police outfit, adding that swift actions had been taken.
Buhari promised that after the police-in-house orderly trial of the suspects, anyone found wanting would face justice.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the president commiserated with the family of the deceased.
He reassured that government would ensure that security agencies conduct their activities in conformity with rule of law and international human rights conventions.
