Benue State begins crackdown on criminals

Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, has declared a statewide crackdown on criminals beginning from today.

Ortom stated this yesterday during a thanksgiving service at NKST Church, Agasha, organised in his honour by the Nongov Community Development Association (NCDA).

The governor stated that with the end of the one-week prayer and fasting programme the state organised in conjunction with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) against all forms of evil in the state, it was time to match faith with works.

Quotin from the Bible, he said: “Faith without good works is dead.”

According to him, God had heard the prayers of the people at several times in the past; hence he was confident that this time would not be an exception.

He said having tackled the challenge from the spiritual realm, it was time to go physical, insisting that a combined task force comprising the military, the police and other security agencies would be engaged to fish out criminals from their hiding places to face sanctions.
