The Bayelsa State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated its 2019 Governorship Campaign Council, insisting that the party was in a better position than the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to win the November 16 gubernatorial election.
State Chairman of the party, Jothan Amos, formally inaugurated the council and the committees in the presence of party elders, stakeholders and other party members.
Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, was named Director-General of the Campaign Council, while Professor Seiyefa Brisibe is Alternate Director-General.
Also, Eddy Orubo, Christopher Enai, Chief Sonme Ogilogi and Festus Daumiebi are Deputy Directors-General, while State Secretary of APC, Alabo Martins, was named Secretary.
Governorship Candidate of APC, David Lyon, said the PDP and Governor Seriake Dickson lacked substance to campaign with hence they have resorted to campaign of calumny and blackmail.
Reacting to a statement credited to Dickson and the PDP candidate, Douye Diri, that the APC will introduce criminality, Lyon advised Dickson to tell Bayelsa people what he did with the trillions of Naira that accrued to the state in eight years of his administration instead of engaging in blackmail and fantasies.
