The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) on Monday joined the rest of the corporate community in the world to celebrate the 2022 edition of Global Customer Week.
At a rally organised by the Servicom Department as part of the activities to mark the week, which was held at the corporate headquarters of the authority, the Managing Director of NPA, Engr. Mohammed Bello- Koko, stated that the management under his watch would leave no stone unturned at ensuring effective and cost-efficient service delivery at the nation’s seaports.
He stated that it is in line with this vision of the management in pursuing an aggressive automation of the ports and harbour systems, which is incorporated into a Port Community System (PCS) being implemented in collaboration with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).
The managing Director noted that automating the country’s port systems and operations was crucial in making the seaports globally competitive as well as ensuring customer satisfaction, adding that the Port Community System remains a game changer towards achieving this objective.
He called on stakeholders of other ports in the country including shipping lines and agents, terminal operators, other sister government agencies and regulators as well as freight forwarders to join hands with the NPA in order to make the much talked about ports community system a reality.
