At Arafah, Doguwa seeks end to nation’s economic, security challenges

Leader of House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has sought an end incessant security threats and economic challenges bedeviling the nation.

Doguwa, who stated this while speaking with journalists at Arafah in Saudi Arabia at a special prayer to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir yesterday, expressed the hope that Nigeria will soon overcome its present challenges.

The representative Tudunwada Federal Constituency of Kano State, who joined thousands of Nigerian pilgrims and millions of global contingents at Arafah, prayed for President Muhammadu Buhari and other leaders for a prosperous Nigeria.

He expressed satisfaction with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on preparations for the 2019 Hajj operations and pledged the House of Representatives support for successful completion of the exercise.

“NAHCON has performed the 2019 Hajj well in airlifting pilgrims to the Holy Land, while feeding and accommodation in Madina are a true reflections of their commitment.

“We are always ready as lawmakers to support the commission to attain greater heights. We also take advantage of Arafah to pray for the unity and progress of our beloved country. The economic and security challenges will end soon,” he stated.

On early arrival of Kano pilgrims for this year’s hajj, Doguwa commended Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s support for the state pilgrims board.

Meanwhile, over 1.8 million pilgrims who performed this year’s hajj had concluded their standing at Arafah, the zenith of hajj rites, passed the sacred night at Mustalifa and thrown the first set of pebbles at Satan in Jamra.

The pilgrims have returned to the tent city of Muna where they will remain for the next three days to complete the hajj rituals.
