The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Yakubu Yackson Sanda, as winner of the Pengana constituency by-election held in Plateau State.
He polled 9, 222 votes to beat his closest rival and standard-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Yakubu Busa Buji Jamaika, who polled 7, 083 ballots.
The Returning Officer, Professor Noel Wanang of the University of Jos announced the results at the collation centre located in Government College, Jengre, Bassa Local Council of the state.
The exercise is to replace Ezekiel Afon of the ruling APC, who died after emerging victorious at the March polls.
