Comptroller Joe Anani, the newly appointed Customs Area Controller of Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command, has promised to improve on the successes achieved by his predecessor, Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Tenny Mankini Daniyan.

Anani vowed to build on the gains made in revenue collection and trade facilitation, particularly with the Unified Customs Management System, also known as B’Odogwu. He also pledged to enhance the command’s efficiency in cargo clearance, aligning with the Time Release Study (TRS) programme.

He called on all stakeholders, including customs officers, sister government agencies, private sector stakeholders, and the press, to support him in sustaining PTML’s excellence. He emphasized the importance of compliance and efficient systems to achieve faster cargo clearance, noting that the command’s outstanding record of two-hour cargo release time for compliant RoRo consignments could be improved further.

The new comptroller expressed his commitment to maintaining PTML’s reputation as a model port of excellence, known for security, efficiency, and diligent trade facilitation. He thanked the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, for the opportunity to serve and pledged to strictly enforce the CGC’s zero tolerance for smuggling.
