Akeredolu mulls empowerment of 150,000 youths in Ondo

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is to retool 150,000 youths with a view to reducing the high unemployment rate in Ondo.

He gave the assurance yesterday at the opening of a two-day training organised by the newly created State Office of Innovation and Partnerships in collaboration with the German Development Corporation (GIZ) for 200 unemployed young persons in Akure.

Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on Innovation and Partnerships, Joel Ogunsola, the governor stated that the intention would be implemented within 18 months through employability engagements.

Akeredolu added that he would match the unemployed with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) for paid internships and full-time job opportunities.
