NCS: HARVEST OF ILLEGAL ARMS AND AMMUNITION AT LAGOS PORTS AS CGC DISBANDS NOTORIOUS STRIKE FORCE.

At a media briefing on the interception of arms and ammunition by NCS in Lagos recently, the acting CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi said that the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has harvested an illegal arms dealer at the Lagos ports even as the acting Comptroller General of Customs CGC Wale Adeniyi has disbanded the notorious CGC Strike force.

In the arms harvest displayed to Newsmen at the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Ikeja Lagos said that the NCS harvested an illegal arms cache of thirty-one (31) rifles and ammunition concealed in plastic drums and a sack of charcoal.

He also disclosed that the arms harvested at both the Tin can island port and PTMl was traced to the same importer who imported them from the United States of America (USA). To highlight the recent achievements of the NCS in our Ongoing efforts to suppress smug and safeguard national security and he advises importers and agents to be patriotic by making sincere declarations and to be properly guided by the import/ export prohibition lists and also urges them to see security as a collective responsibility, he concluded.
