NIMASA workers will soon start commuting to work through water transportation’

Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh, has said that a deliberate policy to ensure that NIMASA staff members commute to work through water transportation will soon be in effect.
One of the newly purchased mass transit boats has been test run and found to be in perfect condition, while others are being equipped for commencement of operations.
In a post on his social media handles on Tuesday, the NIMASA Director General said that such policy will allow the agency to practice what it preaches.
His words: “We are practicing what we preach. Our deliberate policy of NIMASA workers commuting to work by water transportation will soon be in effect. The agency’s presence and brand will become ever-dominant in our waters. Players, operators and stakeholders will be able to engage with us more directly and with real-time experience and value.
“We are delighted to announce that we have already taken delivery of our brand-new mass-transit boats and operations vessels to enable us to fulfill our dual mandates of promoting the Blue Economy and effectively regulating the maritime industry.”
