IWD:  MAJAN President, Ugochukwu Congratulates Nigerian Women

President General, of the Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN), has congratulated Women in Nigeria and in the Diaspora on the occasion of this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD), a celebration which took place on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, globally.
Ugochukwu gave his congratulatory message in a press statement released on the MAJAN platform.

The MAJAN President, who is highly gender sensitive, described women as good administrators in public offices and within families.
Speaking further, Ugochukwu urged the Nigerian government to encourage more women’s participation in the governance and political affairs of the country.

He also described the International Women’s Day celebration as a well-thought-out event meant to honour women for their tremendous contributions to national development.

According to him, many Nigerian women have excelled in their various careers and should be commended for their steadfastness and resilience and urged the government at all levels to create a level playing ground for more women to thrive in governance and entrepreneurship. “Women are very special people in society. They are our daughters, sisters and mothers. So, we use this special occasion to honour and rejoice with them,” he said.
