Declining medical sector linked to insecurity in the country. By Chioma Martins

The Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN) has criticized the deteriorating security situation in the country.This unfortunate occurrences has become a major concern to the citizens of Nigeria.

Prof.Ken Ozoilo,the President of MDCAN accompanied by Secretary General,Dr.Moses Chingle in an address to Journalists at the Jos University Teaching hospital (JUTH) laid major emphasis on the re- structuring of the security system in the country to be more productive in its operations.According to Ozoilo this will help to restore the country from the hands of those set out on a mission to destroy the peace in the country.
The declining of the medical sector has been linked to the insecurity situation in the country because doctors do not want to be kidnapped.
He further encouraged the federal government to seek for help from other countries and international agencies urgently inorder to tame insecurity and effectually fight terrorism.
He complimented the efforts of the Federal Government and the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) for repressing the COVID-19 pandemic and providing the vaccines.He also assured the masses to accept the vaccines as it has no negative effect.

Ozoilo in his address advises the Lagos State Governor,Babajide Sanwo-olu,not to yield to cheap politics underpinning the petitions.He should remember that any process that excludes candidates on the basis of doctoral degrees will lead the institution into avertable crisis and litigations. He criticized the re- occurring involvement of chartered interests and external forces regarding the selection of the Vice- Chancellor of Lagos State University ( LASU) recently.
