ACPN asks Supreme Court to nullify Kogi, Bayelsa elections

Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of unlawful exclusion from the Kogi and Bayelsa states governorship polls held in November last year.

It, therefore, asked the Supreme Court to declare the outcome of the polls null and void.

National chairman of the party, Alhaji Ganiyu Galadima, told reporters in Abuja that “INEC lacks the power to exclude the party from the poll”, since the party complied with laid down rules and regulations.

“We are not pleased with the judgements of the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal on the matter and are ultimately in the Supreme Court for the proper interpretation of the law if the ACPN can unlawfully be denied participation in an election where all conditions have been met. And we are sure of winning at the Supreme Court,” the party stated.
