NATIONAL SECURITY: FOLA TINUBU, OGAH TASK NIGERIANS ON COLLECTIVE APPROACH

Lagos – The CEO, Primero Transport Services, Mr. Fola Tinubu, on Saturday, 16 November, at The Presentation of The New Experience Newspaper and Annual Lecture/Awards at Presken Hotel, Awolowo road Ikeja, tasked Nigerians on the need to come together to combat the rising menace of insecurity across the country

Mr. Tinubu who received the Award for Excellence in Public Transport Service at the event emphasised the need for all hands to be on deck in tackling the security challenges bedevilling the country.  Speaking to the press after the event, he described the security situation in the country as sitting on a powder keg. “We all have to do our bit. It is not just government. It starts with every single one of us. We need to revamp our educational system to ensure we are turning out quality graduates and also, we must find ways to provide jobs for our youths”, he said.

Mr. Tinubu also used the opportunity to reaffirm the commitment of Primero Transport Services to enhance Lagos transport infrastructure by meeting its vision of deploying over 2000 BRT buses within the Metropolis.

Mr. Tinubu, who was also the chief launcher of the paper urged Lagosians to have patience and work with Governor Sanwolu-Olu to do better and achieve the common goal of moving Lagos state forward.

Delivering the lecture keynote themed “Securing the Nation: Imperative of Collective Responsibility” Captain Abel Abechi Ogah, N.N. (Rtd), urged Nigerians to unite against insecurity at this crucial time when joblessness or unemployment, hardship and different ethnic issues have created reasons for tension, criminality and hostilities, stressing that synergising against insecurity will help us achieve a safer Nigeria.

Ogah tasked parents to be close to their children so as to give them a close watch to prevent them from becoming tools in the hands of criminal agents and politicians who desire thugs for their pecuniary gains.

On his part, the publisher of The New Experience Newspaper, Prince Benson Davies in his opening remark assured the dignitaries present at the occasion that the paper has come to stay. He reiterated the commitment of the paper to standing for justice and the development of Nigeria through extensive and constructive reportage of topical issues. He thanked the guest launchers and urged the recipients of inaugural edition of The Annual The New Experience Awards to be more patriotic and responsive to the issues that inspire National development.
