EFCC arraigns Boroh, Moriki over N975m fraud in Amnesty programme

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned the duo of Brigadier General Tarelah Paul Boroh (rtd) and Hanafi Musa Moriki, before Justice O. O. Goodluck of the FCT High Court, Abuja.

They are being tried on a nine-count charge bordering on criminal breach of trust and financial misconduct amounting to N974.7m and $1.9m.

The defendants were said to have converted N8.6m, N106.2m, N12m, N382.8m, N456m and N9m, among others while in public office.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to all the counts EFCC brought against them, but counsel to the first defendant, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) prayed the court to grant his client bail on liberal terms, stating that his client came to court in spite of his ill health.

Counsel to the second defendant, O. A. Dada also prayed the court to grant his client bail on liberal terms after which the matter was adjourned to November 26 & 27 and December 3&4, 2019 for trial.
