Two herders hospitalised in Imo after clash over missing cattle as cleric cautions FG to avoid RUGA crisis

Two herdsmen are currently receiving treatment at emergency unit of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owerri, Imo State, after clashing and inflicting wounds on each other yesterday.

The incident led to traffic heavy gridlock along the Owerri-Aba Road in Agbala, Owerri North Council, as they fought and inflicted heavy cuts on themselves.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Orlando Godson Ikeokwu, a Superintendent of Police, confirmed the incident, saying the herders had a disagreement over missing cattle, and that they were responding to treatment.

Meanwhile, Christ Holy Church International, also known as Nation Builders, has charged the Federal Government to tread with caution in its decision to pursue the Ruga settlement project to avoid crisis in the country.

Speaking during its monthly programme in Lagos tagged: Work of Faith, General Overseer, Reverend Daniel Okoh, urged the government to go back to the drawing table and find other ways of sustaining cattle rearing in Nigeria.
