Suspends five council chairmen in Kebbi, Ekiti chapter distances self from suspension of Fayose loyalist

The Kebbi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended chairmen of five councils and nine others for anti-party activities.

A statement issued by the state’s Chairman, Haruna Saidu in Birnin- Kebbi revealed that the leadership accused the suspended members of exposing the party’s secrets and its leadership to public ridicule and disrepute.

He explained that the 14 PDP stalwarts showed total disregard for its constitution and hierarchy.

Saidu also accused them of spreading lies and engaging in sustained campaign of calumny against leaders of the party to promote disaffection among members in the state.

He listed the affected chairmen as Nuhu Goma (Zuru Council); Aminu Sawwa (Argungu); Abubakar Kudu (Maiyam); Bello Bunza (Bunza) and Bello Gulmare (Gwandu).

Others are Zonal ex-officio, Ibrahim Manzo; Zonal Vice Chairman, Kebbi Central, Abubakar Basse; Muhammadu Ruwa; Zonal Vice Chairman, Kebbi North, Isiyaku Dauda and Udulu Manpower, Acting state Legal Adviser.

Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Working Committee (SWC) has distanced itself from alleged suspension of its members in Oye Council of the state.

Chairman of the council, Sunday Ojo had in a letter dated August 5, 2019 suspended former member of the House of Assembly, Dr. Samuel Omotoso for anti-party activities.

But after its extended meeting yesterday, the party said the action was illegal and an act of insubordination against the party’s organs.
