PDP raises concern over rising uncertainties, failing economy, insecurity

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lamented the rising insecurity, political uncertainties, failing economy, hardship and prevailing tension across the country.

It, therefore, alerted that the nation was collapsing under the President Muhammadu Buhari and All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

It also recalled that only recently, the United Nations (UN) declared that 43 per cent of Nigeria’s Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) had taken flight to other countries, while unemployment had gone out of proportion and there was no hope in sight.

In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiya shortly after its meeting, the party said: “Our worry is that the prevailing situation of hopelessness under President Buhari and the APC is threatening our national cohesion and corporate existence as a nation,” it said.

The PDP called on all Nigerians of good faith and the international community to come to its rescue by speaking out against the prevailing situation in Nigeria before it gets too late.

“Our party has also noticed that since the defence of APC and President Buhari collapsed at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, the government has taken to harassment and repression of Nigerians by suspending constitutional provisions of freedom of speech and association,” the statement added.
