Christian Aid unveils database for humanitarian responses information

A non-governmental organisation, Christian Aid Nigeria has launched the Humanitarian Intervention Repository (HUIREP) for collection and management of information from disaster and humanitarian interventions in Nigeria.

The HUIREP platform is a web database that would enable government, partners and other stakeholders to access and share timely and relevant information on disasters and humanitarian interventions in the country.

Speaking at the event yesterday in Abuja, its Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Manager, Talatu Aliyu, said the platform would be managed by the State Emergency Management Agencies (SEMA) at state level and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) at national level, as the supervisory coordination agency.

She said HUIREP would also be open to civil society organisations (CSOs), international and local NGOs, government agencies and other humanitarian actors for recording intervention activities in disaster areas.
