EKSU medical college students graduate 10 years after

The Ekiti State University College of Medicine has graduated the first set of medical students of the institution after 10 years of study.

A statement issued by EKSU Public Relations Officer (PRO), Bode Olofinmuagun, at the weekend disclosed that the result of the final examination indicated 100 per cent success, as all the 43 students that went through the programme passed.

Reacting to the students’ performance, Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor (Mrs.) Olubunmi Ajayi, congratulated the first set of medical doctors to be produced by the university.

“Ajayi also expressed appreciation to the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, for ensuring that the college was accredited,” the statement added.

The medical students spent 10 years on the programme due to delayed accreditation.

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) recently visited the University and gave a five-year approval for the accreditation of the programme.
