Federal Government to supply 10 per cent of India’s oil needs

Nigeria is to supply 10 per cent of India’s crude oil requirements in the face of competing for the demand for the product from other countries.

Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari, dropped the hint when he received the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Abhay Thakur, in Abuja.

The corporation’s Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Ndu Ughamadu, in a statement quoted the GMD as saying that Nigeria would continue to support India’s energy security.

The envoy thanked the management for the recent renewal of the crude oil term contracts for three Indian companies and sued for an increase in crude oil supply in view of the increasing energy needs of the Asian nation.

Thakur said his country was willing to provide credit and expertise to help NNPC revamp its massive infrastructure nationwide.
