Ethnic nationalities to set up militia against killer herdsmen, B’Haram terrorists

The Ethnic Nationalities Defence Organisation (ENDO) has cautioned all minority ethnic nationalities in the country to immediately set up self-defence militia to defend their lands and territories against Boko Haram terrorists and killer herdsmen.

In a statement issued in Abuja, its President, David Maiyami, Director of Information and Strategy, Freedom Musa and Director of Operations, Nehemiah Maihaikali, it charged all ethnic nationalities to form their militia groups or be ready to lose their ancestral lands after being exterminated by either the compromised security forces or Fulani militia and terrorists.

“Ours is an eye-for-an-eye and 10 for one. Let us see who has monopoly of violence. Ours is non-negotiable until the evil against ethnic nationalities by government and Fulani herdsmen militia ends,” it said.

The group, which issued the statement after its meeting in the Middle Belt region, said: “We have observed with sadness over the years and especially since the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration the targeted annihilation of ethnic minorities in Nigeria.

“We have since realised that Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen are brothers in arms against Nigeria’s ethnic nationalities in a brazen land-grabbing and expansionist Fulani Jihad agenda.”

It pointed out that it was evident that Boko Haram and Fulani militia have not only infiltrated government, but have also claimed that government is directly or indirectly aiding and abetting the killings of Nigerians in the minority ethnic nationalities.

ENDO observed that government rebranding of terrorists and Fulani militia, as hoodlums or criminal elements does not change who they truly are and that there are evidences of military killer squads targeting ethnic nationalities apart from recycling released terrorists into the Nigerian security or Fulani militia.

The group also alleged that government’s dialogue with Boko Haram and release of billions for their empowerment, was calculated and deliberate saying: “Recent government negotiations to settle Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) with over N100b through one of their agents, is not surprising.

“No matter how much you give the terrorists from our sovereign wealth to arm themselves and mercenaries, they can never take our ancestral land and each of you will pay.”

The group’s statement followed former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s earlier comments at Oleh, Delta State that acts of violence by Boko Haram and herdsmen have snowballed beyond President Buhari’s capacity.
