The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has commended The New Experience Newspaper (TNEN) for the successful and colourful hosting of its 9th Anniversary Celebration and 5th Annual Lecture held on Thursday, 24th September, 2026 at Rockview Hotel, Apapa, Lagos.

The event was held under the theme *”Blue Economy in Action: Financing, Innovation and Policy for Nigeria’s Maritime Future.”*

The spokesman of the Agency, Mr. Ikechukwu Oyemakara, stated this during a brief chat with The New Experience in his office at Marina, Lagos.

According to Oyemakara, the management of the NPA, particularly the Managing Director, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, commended the TNEN team for a well-organized event and for the wide publicity the event gave to the NPA.

He noted that the theme of this year’s programme was timely and relevant to the current efforts of the Federal Government to harness the potentials of the blue economy, and that the Authority will continue to support The New Experience Newspaper’s future events, particularly its 10th Anniversary celebration scheduled for May next year.

Oyemakara said this year’s event brought a new dimension to maritime journalism, attracting key maritime stakeholders and agencies including the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), SIFAX Group, Nigerian Ports Economic Regulatory Agency (NPERA), formerly Nigerian Shippers’ Council, AIG Maritime Police Command and others who extensively deliberated on the theme.

He added that the media played a major role in the success of the programme, with Radio Nigeria broadcasting the event live from the venue alongside other media houses.

In his response, the Publisher of The New Experience Newspaper, Prince Benson Davies, while thanking the Agency for its participation and support, said the 10th Anniversary celebration will be a landmark edition and that the Managing Director, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, and the General Manager, Public Affairs, Mr. Ikechukwu Oyemakara, will be honoured at the programme next year.
