FiBOP 2026: Customs CG Adeniyi, SEC DG Agama, NRS Boss Adedeji, Others to Grace Annual Conference in Lagos

The 2026 Annual Conference and Awards of the Finance and Business Online Publishers Association (FiBOP) is set to be a gathering of Nigeria’s top economic regulators and policy drivers.
The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Dr. Emomotimi Agama, and the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji, have all confirmed their participation at the prestigious event.
The two-day conference, scheduled to hold from October 17 to 18, 2026, at Orchids Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, will also have the Chairman of NGX Group, Alhaji (Dr.) Umaru Kwairanga as Special Guest.
According to the organizers, Dr. Adedeji is expected to deliver the keynote address, while the conference will be chaired by the Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE), Dr. Muda Yusuf. The Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), Mrs. Bola Odukale, will serve as the Guest Speaker.
The high-powered conference is themed: “Unlocking Nigeria’s Economic Potential: Taxation, Industry, Insurance, Fintech, Trade & Investment as Catalysts for Nigeria’s $1 Trillion Vision.”
Chairman of the Conference Organising Committee, Mr. Barnabas Esiet, said the participation of the top regulators underscores the importance of the conference to Nigeria’s economic reform conversation.
He noted that the event will provide a strategic platform to dissect critical issues around taxation, trade facilitation, revenue mobilisation, capital market development, investor protection, insurance penetration, financial regulation and investment promotion.
“This year’s conference is designed to go beyond talks. We are creating a platform for meaningful engagement among the media, government, regulatory institutions and the private sector on how to drive Nigeria towards a $1 trillion economy,” Esiet said.
Also speaking, FiBOP President, Mr. Charles Onwuatogwu, expressed appreciation to the institutions and personalities that have confirmed attendance, adding that their presence would add immense value to the dialogue.
“The presence of the NRS Executive Vice Chairman, Customs CG, SEC DG, NGX Group Chairman, CPPE CEO and NIA DG shows the confidence stakeholders have in FiBOP and our commitment to promoting responsible business journalism,” Onwuatogwu said.
The event is expected to bring together policymakers, regulators, business leaders, investors, financial experts and media professionals to examine practical strategies for unlocking Nigeria’s economic potential and strengthening the business environment.
Several major institutions have already confirmed participation, including the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Zenith Bank, Polaris Bank, and other key players in finance, insurance and technology.
The two-day event will feature high-level panel discussions, expert technical sessions, networking and stakeholder engagement.
The conference will climax with the FiBOP Awards Night, which will recognize and celebrate individuals and organisations that have made notable contributions to economic development, business growth, financial services, capital market development, fintech innovation, insurance and national development.
