SIFAX Shipping Commissions New Office Complex At Okota Terminal To Boost Service Delivery

SIFAX Shipping Company Limited has unveiled a new office complex at its bonded terminal in Okota, Lagos, in a move aimed at improving operational efficiency and strengthening collaboration with government agencies.
The facility, located within the SIFAX Shipping Okota Terminal 1 premises on Ago Palace Way, was officially commissioned on Monday, September 9, 2026. Mrs. Wunmi Eniola-Jegede, Group Coordinating Director, SIFAX Group, performed the commissioning on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi.
The building will serve as the administrative hub for terminal staff and officials of regulatory agencies operating at the facility, including the Nigeria Customs Service and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.
The commissioning ceremony attracted senior executives of SIFAX Group, representatives of maritime stakeholders, clearing agents, and officials of government agencies.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Afolabi commended the project team, contractors and consultants for delivering the project within a short timeframe. He said the investment was driven by the need to enhance service delivery and provide a more conducive working environment for both staff and government partners.
He charged occupants of the new complex to ensure the facility becomes a centre of excellence defined by professionalism, innovation, accountability, teamwork and quality customer service, values which he said SIFAX Group is known for.
In his welcome address, the Managing Director of SIFAX Shipping, Okota Terminal, Mr. Kayode Kolade, said the completion of the project was the result of careful planning, board commitment and the support of stakeholders.
He noted that the new office environment would enable the terminal to achieve better service delivery, higher productivity, stronger inter-agency collaboration and new opportunities for growth.
Also speaking at the event, Deputy Comptroller O.A. Omini, who led the delegation of the Nigeria Customs Service, lauded SIFAX Group for investing in infrastructure that supports trade facilitation. The Chairman of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA, Mr. Wale Cole, was also present alongside clearing agents and management staff from various SIFAX Group subsidiaries.
The new office complex is part of SIFAX Group’s ongoing efforts to modernize its terminal operations and provide world-class facilities for staff, customers and regulatory partners.
