AFTER TRANSPARENT EXERCISE, PSC APPROVES 50,000 CONSTABLES FOR POLICE TRAINING

The Police Service Commission has approved 50,000 successful applicants for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force as Constables, following what it described as a transparent and inclusive exercise.

The Commission said the recruitment was conducted in collaboration with key stakeholders including the Nigeria Police Force, Federal Character Commission, Ministry of Police Affairs, State Career and Counselling Departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee to ensure equity and fairness.

In a statement on Tuesday, July 15, 2026, PSC directed candidates who participated in the Computer-Based Test to check their status on the official portal: npfapplication.psc.gov.ng.

The portal will go live at 12:00am on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Successful applicants will also receive notifications via the email addresses and phone numbers they provided during registration.

The Commission stated that successful candidates will be deployed to designated Police Training Institutions for medical examination and documentation. Dates will be communicated in due course.

PSC warned that candidates who fail to report within the stipulated time will be deemed to have declined the offer. Those who fail the medical screening to be conducted by the Police Medical Team on resumption will also be disqualified.

Applicants are to report with their training call-up slip, NIN slip, BVN slip, original and photocopies of certificates, and other documents to be listed on the portal.

The Chairman of the Commission, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), mni, thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for approving the recruitment of 50,000 Constables to strengthen the nation’s security architecture.

DIG Argungu charged the new recruits to serve the nation with dignity, integrity and commitment to a safe and secure Nigeria.
