The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has felicitated Nigerians, particularly the Muslim ummah, on the occasion of this year’s Eid al-Adha celebration. He used the opportunity to charge citizens and maritime stakeholders to uphold patriotism, unity, and commitment to national development.

In his goodwill message to staff of the Agency, players in the maritime sector, and the Muslim community, Mobereola reflected on the significance of the season. He noted that Eid al-Adha commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command, and urged Nigerians to let that spirit of sacrifice, obedience, and empathy guide their conduct in daily affairs. According to him, Nigerians must show love to one another, remain loyal to the nation, and stay devoted to the teachings of Allah.

The NIMASA DG also extended warm Eid greetings to the Agency’s workforce and industry stakeholders. He commended them for their dedication to the growth of Nigeria’s maritime sector and for advancing the Blue Economy agenda. He said their consistent commitment continues to drive progress in areas of shipping, safety, security, and marine environment protection.

Mobereola further appealed to all Nigerians to embrace the core values of the season, which include empathy, charity, communal unity, and sacrifice. He stated that collective commitment to these ideals is necessary to build a safer, more inclusive, and prosperous nation. He prayed that the celebration would bring peace, joy, and renewed energy to families and communities across the country.

He concluded by wishing Nigerians, especially stakeholders in the maritime project, a peaceful and rewarding Eid al-Adha. He expressed hope that the spirit of the season would inspire greater collaboration and shared responsibility in advancing national development and the maritime sector.
