AIG Oko Pledges to Prioritise Personnel Welfare and Operational Efficiency

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Maritime Police Command, AIG Chinedu Oko, psc, delivered his maiden lecture to officers and men of the Command on September 11, 2025. The lecture emphasised the importance of professionalism, discipline, and loyalty in maritime policing while outlining AIG Oko’s strategic direction for the Command. With a focus on personnel welfare, capacity development, and operational support, AIG Oko pledged to strengthen collaboration with maritime stakeholders and uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.
Under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, stressed that integrity, dedication, and teamwork remain the foundation for operational success.
The AIG further outlined his strategic direction for the Command, pledging to prioritize personnel welfare, capacity development, and operational support while strengthening collaboration with maritime stakeholders. He reminded officers and men that their role in safeguarding Nigeria’s maritime assets is central to national security and economic stability, particularly within the framework of the blue economy.
The lecture provided a platform to interact directly with personnel, inspire confidence, and set the tone for his administration in the Maritime Police Command.
The Command assures the general public and stakeholders that, under the leadership of AIG Chinedu Oko, psc, it will continue to uphold professionalism, ensure operational efficiency, and remain resolute in its duty to protect Nigeria’s maritime domain.
