MWUN Lauds Orion Marine, Seatransport for Salary Increment

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has commended the management of Orion Marine Services Limited and Seatransport Ltd for their unprecedented salary increment for union members. This achievement follows a new review of sailors’ remuneration, aligning with the National Joint Industrial Council (NJIC) guidelines. MWUN President-General, Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, praised both companies for prioritising their employees’ welfare, emphasising that happy workers lead to optimum satisfaction for employers.

The union leader urged other maritime companies to follow Orion and Seatransport’s example, warning that non-compliant companies would face consequences and be reported to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
