Customs Board Appoints Nnadi, Orbih, Omale, and Mohammed as DCGs; Olomu, Shuabu, and Others as ACGs; and Promotes Over 3,500 Officers

The Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB) has made significant appointments and promotions within the service. At its 63rd regular meeting, the board approved the appointment of four Deputy Comptroller-Generals (DCGs) and 12 Assistant Comptroller-Generals (ACGs).

Promotions
Senior Officers: 3,312 officers promoted across various ranks from Comptroller of Customs (CC) to Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC 11)
Junior Officers: 202 officers promoted from Assistant Inspector (AIC) to Customs Assistant I (CA1)
Operational Updates
The NCSB also reviewed key operational updates, including
Revenue Performance: The service recorded a total revenue collection of N3,682,496,530,576.48 in the first half of 2025, surpassing projections by N390,197,847,119.32 (11.85%).
Trade Modernisation Project: Notable achievements include wider deployment of the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS) codenamed B’Odogwu, arrival of six scanners, and procurement of Electronic Cargo Tracking System (ECTS) equipment
National Single Window (NSW) Project: The service has seconded WCO-accredited officers, supported business process requirements, and actively participated in vendor selection and disciplinary matters.
The board approved the demotion of two officers for misconduct and granted reinstatement to two others after reviewing their cases.
The Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, congratulated all newly appointed and promoted officers, charging them to justify the confidence reposed in them. He reaffirmed the service’s commitment to innovation, inclusivity, transparency, and excellence in service delivery.
