Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Customs Command Intercepts Expired Pharmaceuticals Amidst Revenue Surge

The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Command of the Nigerian Customs Service has reported a significant 63% growth in revenue collection in the first half of 2025. Comptroller Eghosa Joyh Edelduok highlighted the Command’s enhanced operational efficiency and improved compliance levels during a media briefing on August 15, 2025.

 

 

 

 

 

In a press release signed by Victor Ogabor, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the command:

– Revenue Growth: ₦89,205,500,741.85 in H1 2025 compared to ₦54,806,893,697 in H1 2024.
– Interceptions: Two 40-foot containers with expired pharmaceuticals (cumulative DPV of ₦130 million) were intercepted.
– Commitment to Transparency: The Command emphasises applying the law without compromise to protect public health and uphold transparency, accountability, and professionalism.
– Stakeholder Engagement: Constructive engagement with stakeholders through open communication and inter-agency cooperation.

The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Command’s achievements demonstrate its commitment to revenue growth, combating smuggling, and ensuring public health safety.

Comptroller Edelduok expressed gratitude to stakeholders, partner agencies, officers, and the media for their contributions to the Command’s success.
