Promoted Officers Decorated at Tin Can Island Port Command,… Comptroller Onyeka Emphasizes Commitment to Excellence

The Tin Can Island Port (TCIP) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has decorated its newly promoted officers in a ceremony held at the command’s headquarters in Tin Can Island, Lagos. Comptroller Frank Onyeka, the Customs Area Controller of the TCIP Command, charged the promoted officers to see their new ranks as a call to greater service, emphasizing the need for efficient service delivery and commitment to excellence.

The CAC, who was himself decorated in Abuja on Wednesday, the 22nd, spoke before the officers filed out to be decorated. He said to the officers present at the occasion, “Those of us who have been promoted, congratulations, but for those who have not been promoted now, your day to shine and be promoted shall come. Promotion comes from God only

His words, “The Comptroller-General of Customs and his team, in their magnanimity, have pledged that every officer under his watch shall be happy. As part of our mandate, we want to generate revenue without any kind of blemish, and we also intend to engage everyone who will aid us in achieving this objective and others too. I would therefore urge us all to continue to play our part, be more dedicated and committed to the principles that guide the Nigeria Customs Service, and strive to achieve the mandates as enunciated in the extant laws of Nigeria.”.

The CAC’s decided to delegate the responsibility to DC administration Ariyibi ensured a seamless executive of the decoration ceremony while allowing the CAC to attend to other pressing matters

The DC administration performed the decoration of some officers as he started with the newly promoted Chief Superintendent of Customs and the staff officer of the Command, O. A. Olatunji.

Over 20 officers from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Customs II to the Assistant Comptroller of Customs were decorated with some of the decorated officers coming to the occasion with families, friends and well wishers. The DC admin afterwards urged the decorated officers to continue to give their very best to the Service and the nation in general.
