EZEOKE, OLOTU, ODUNAYO TO LEAD GIRLS GO-TO-SEA CAMPAIGN TALKS AT LAGOS ANGLICAN GRAMMAR SCHOOL

The 2024 Role Model Ambassador of Face Of Maritime International (FOMI), Mrs. Eunice Ezeoke, the Former Assistant General Manager, Tariff and Billing of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Pastor Mrs. Olotu Funmilayo, and the President of Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA Nigeria), Dr. Odunayo Ani, are set to lead other maritime dignitaries to Lagos Anglican Girls Grammar School, Surulere Lagos, on December 9 next week Monday, for a Maritime Career Talk under the Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign program, a pet project of the newly crowned FOMI queens.

The Maritime Career Talk, which is an integral part of the Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign Project, is a catch-them-young project designed to sensitize and encourage secondary school girls to take a maritime career path by choosing to study maritime-related courses at their tertiary education level in order to qualify for job opportunities in the maritime sector.

The project was first flagged off in June 2017 by former Managing Director of NPA Hadiza Bala Usman at Osborne School Complex, Ikoyi, with over 250 schoolgirls in attendance. Since then, the organisers have visited several girls’ secondary schools in Nigeria, sensitizing the schoolgirls on the need to pursue a maritime career!

In continuation of the project, the newly crowned Face of Maritime International, Queen Roselyn Olanisimi, is taking the Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign program to Lagos Anglican Girls Grammar School in Surulere Lagos to kick-start her pet project for the 2024/2025 service reign in line with the aims and objectives of FOMI.

About 400 senior secondary school girls are expected to be part of the program.
