Coordinator of Zone ‘A’ Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Lagos, Assistant Comptroller-General Saidu Yusuf, has applauded the synergy among security agencies in the country, saying the collaboration has been yielding desired results.
Yusuf, who was on official visit to Idiroko, headquarters of Ogun 1 Area Command of the NCS, on Thursday, October 10, 2024, was received by the Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the command, Compt. James Ojo, alongside an array of sister security agencies.
While expressing delight in the development, the ACG noted that all the commands he had visited were the receptions, for which he commended the leadership of various security agencies for keeping the flag flying in the interest of the nation and the citizens.
He said, “Our common goal is to provide security for the nation and her citizens; we are all to serve Nigeria. Gone are the days when Customs, NDLEA, DSS and every agency would be far apart.
“Our laws have taken into cognizance the issue that we must work together as government agencies to produce results, as no agency can do it alone. So, I appreciate you all for coming here to welcome me.”
The visit saw the Zonal Coordinator commissioning the command’s renovated clinic and officers mess, even as he reeled out the various projects embarked upon by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.
He stated that his visit was to relate the CGC’s message to officers and men of the command, saying: “We need to let you understand that the management is doing quite a lot to ensure that the Service is positioned to a level all of us will be proud of.
“For the past year, the CGC has been able to roll out some of the World Customs Organization’s (WCO’s) tools to ensure we perform our duties effectively. To lift up the standard of our performance to international level, we have been able to roll out advanced rulings and AEO. These are some of the tools that will ensure our Service is equipped at a high level regarding our duty. “
