We will update the platform on any new development.

Last year’s topic: Corona Virus in Nigeria and conspiracy theory: the public understanding, stirred up reactions from different spheres of life.

The topic for last years event was so Germaine in the sense that it was drawn from the global pandemic which is still ravaging the world and generating so much controversy anywhere it’s being discussed.

The topic stirred up so much controversy amongst the guest, participants and discussants. There were those who believed that there was Corona Virus in Nigeria and advised on ways that people could take precautions while others had their diverse views. Some believed it was overhyped, while others outrightly opposed the existence Corona Virus in Nigeria.

Thus, Florence Ilaya belongs to the group which said there was Corona in Nigeria, as a Nurse and a philanthropist, she tried to use her wealth of experience to let others understand the need to protect themselves and family from the Corona Virus (Covid 19).

While some medical practitioners, because of their experience in practice, saw the need for people to protect themselves against the ravaging effects of Covid-19, Others especially the guests believed it was hypothesized, Capt. Alfred who was in Congo at the peak of the pandemic, aligned his thoughts with those of other speakers, stating that Covid-19 existence in Nigeria is anything but red.

However, at the end of the day, the participants were able to marry the divergent opinions and addressed the need for Nigerians to protect themselves as directed by NCDC and the Federal government while also observing the natural laws of the environment to protect themselves.

The event was well attended: There were cultural shows, artists performances, lots of music and of course, people went home with various awards which made the new experience occasion great, and unique

The event was a success. We reached our goal of bringing people, dignitaries to the event, with 100 per cent of participants commending the organizers of the annual event.

This occasion attracted the SSA to the Governor of Edo State, the Maritime, Customs, immigration, police, politicians, doctors and the general public.

The size of the crowd was unprecedented with over 400 people in attendance. The awards were given to the People who have touched other people’s lives one way or the other.
