Dikko Junction Explosion: PSC Chair Demands Enhanced Road Safety Measures

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu, has expressed profound shock and sadness over the avoidable deaths in a petrol tanker inferno at Dikko Junction, Nigeria State. The tragic incident has once again highlighted the urgent need for stricter road safety measures and proactive government policies to address the alarming rate of road accidents in Nigeria. Argungu’s call for improved road safety mechanisms underscores the importance of preventing such tragedies and ensuring the safety of all road users. He said road safety should be as important as the air we breathe and that those charged with this responsibility should be alive to their duties.
He commiserated with the government and people of Niger State on this unfortunate development and prayed for the repose of the souls of the dead.
He also condoled the families of other persons who might have been affected by the fire incident, such as street traders along the Dikko junction and travellers who might have been caught up in the explosion.
The PSC Chairman also prayed that God should spare our nation of such calamities.
